Video: LeBron James Drops 37 Points, Dunks on the Phoenix Suns in 103-97 Victory

No recap for today. Instead, take time out to view the insane game LeBron James had against the Phoenix Suns Tuesday night.

The 37 points LeBron scored was the most he’s put up since raining in 36 in a double-overtime loss to the Brooklyn Nets on January 10th. He hadn’t put up at least 35 points in a regulation game since the season-high 39 points he put against the Dallas Mavericks back in mid-November.

This is the second time in two meetings this year where LeBron has scored at least 35 points against the Suns. He scored 35 on 79 percent shooting in a 15-point win over Phoenix back in late November. This time around, he scored 37 on only 55 percent shooting.

Of those 37, 14 came in a fourth quarter where Miami needed every point to combat Phoenix’s unstoppable shooting from deep. The Heat managed to outscore the Suns 32-23 in the final frame, with 11 points in the final four minutes coming from LeBron.

Crucial baskets included a difficult step-back jumper that pushed Miami’s lead to five with 2:05 left. Two possessions later, LeBron perfectly read the passing lane, intercepting a Markieff Morris pass, and turning it into one of his numerous slams on the night.

LeBron also had a rare clutch timeout when Ray Allen was about to turn the ball over deep in Phoenix territory off an inbound and the Heat clinging onto a four-point lead. Before the ball was ripped from his hands, however, James noticed the trouble Ray was in and immediately called a timeout.

From there, LeBron would hit a pair of free throws to seal it.
