Hamilton (LSU) was selected with the 45th pick in the ’12 draft by the Miami Heat following a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers on draft night. He was looked at as another stretch-four/five to add to a team that is always on the lookout for players who can help space the floor.
The Heat have yet to see Hamilton play in one of their uniforms, including summer league on account of injuries. He has been staying fresh playing in Europe with stints on KK Cibona of Croatia and VEF Riga of Latvia.
This detailed and researched look at his stints give a solid overview and summary of his time overseas.
Hamilton joins a 16-man roster that also includes LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem, Shane Battier, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Norris Cole, Joel Anthony, Greg Oden, Jarvis Varnado and Eric Griffin.
The limit on players a team can have going into camp is 20.
